Lets take a quick break from apartment palooza and talk pizza. Yes, the delicious meal that I adamantly feel should have its own section on the food pyramid. When I first got to California, I was a little food depressed. Most of my favorite chain restaurants in Texas don't exist here and the restaurants that are here, while incredibly good, are expensive. Like really expensive. When my boyfriend came to visit we constantly split meals (much to his annoyance) and did good to leave any restaurant less than $40. Needless to say, eating out on a regular basis is no longer an option. That was... until I found Vito's. Insert heavenly light that beams down and harps that play at the sheer sound of his name.
I wish I could tell you I heard about this in some super hip way, but in actuality I was watching old episodes of Entourage (one of my favorite shows) and heard a casual name drop of this place. Being the creeper that I am, I yelped it and found that it was less than a mile from my house. DONE. Vito's is a small little place in a barely-there shopping center that reminds me in every good way of the pizza that we constantly ate in New York. Its undeniable charm and family feel (I have yet to go in and not see Vito working behind the counter or in the kitchen) makes you wonder why you ever lowered yourself to chain pizza delivery. The best part? Other than the flavor, (in true broke girl style) I love that you can purchase it by the slice for less $4.00 - - $2.95 if you prefer plain 'ol cheese like me.
